Derick Robison ran back to his position shaking his head. If Alfredo Cho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Derick Robison came free, but Marcos Villalobos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Denton struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Marcos Villalobos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newtown. Mathieu Gousse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Derick Robison fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Emanuel Denton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Denton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Villalobos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 minutes, Chester Roe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester United and the Newtown players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Newtown booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chester Roe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Denton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Marcos Villalobos made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mathieu Gousse was the one to do the kick off. Adolfo Langlais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathieu Gousse in the 58th minute of play. Marcos Villalobos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derick Robison in the 67th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Rich Lane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Derick Robison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. When Emanuel Denton came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Newtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Denton couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Denton in the 95th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Marcos Villalobos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Newtown had played much better football throughout.
