Bobbie Orozco kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Newtown were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 played minutes Newtown got a freekick which was hit by Barry Rankin. Rosendo Petty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derick Robison in the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Newtown's Derick Robison got a free kick in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Newtown getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Emanuel Denton hit a great ball. Davis Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. When the match was over Newtown could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Canol AFC throughout the match.
