After a defensive mix-up in Auteuil's zone, Derick Robison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmond Pelletier came out of the goal and Derick Robison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ariel Park struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Adolfo Langlais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Auteuil. Newtown's Adolfo Langlais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Whitley in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown's zone, Ariel Park stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Langlais came out of the goal and Ariel Park tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Roger Whitley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolfo Langlais was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 34thth minute of the game Emanuel Denton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Auteuil's Edmond Pelletier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alton Swartz hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After having played for 43 minutes, Emanuel Denton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newtown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Denton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmond Pelletier acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 48th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Chung King. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Derick Robison made the kick off in the second half. Edmond Pelletier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Derick Robison, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Derick Robison scored 1-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmond Pelletier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ariel Park during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ariel Park kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Emanuel Denton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Denton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmond Pelletier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Newtown booed when Auteuil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Morton Craig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derick Robison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Edmond Pelletier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Derick Robison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bernard Christie's late challenge caught a Newtown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernard Christie helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Newtown booed when Auteuil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernard Christie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmond Pelletier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derick Robison in the 75th minute of the match. The Auteuil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmond Pelletier should have stopped the shot. Roger Whitley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Newtown getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Barry Rankin hit a great ball. Derick Robison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Edmond Pelletier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Newtown's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
