After 4 minutes of play, Sorel's Edmundo Bray made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Irving Houde was left in no man's land by his defense there! 10 minutes into the match, Sorel's Milton Elkins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Irving Houde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Raphael Hodges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugène Curran having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Edmundo Bray got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edmundo Bray struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Irving Houde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sorel. Montmartre AFC's Irving Houde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Montmartre AFC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Sorel's Lyman Wilhelm got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Milton Elkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Edmundo Bray dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Irving Houde, 2-0. In the 33rd match minute, Sorel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Val Chavis to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Montmartre AFC's Rudy Kendall in action when he in the 35th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Milton Elkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Irving Houde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Montmartre AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Bray came free, but Irving Houde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Montmartre AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Stiles to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raphael Hodges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Milton Elkins came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Sorel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milton Elkins couldn't finish the play. Milton Elkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irving Houde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Bray's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Mario Stiles hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute Raphael Hodges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugène Curran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Marco Proulx came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Montmartre AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Proulx couldn't finish the play. If Marco Proulx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute of the match, Raphael Hodges tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eugène Curran saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Eugène Curran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael Hodges in the 85th minute of play. Dylan Aviles kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Marco Proulx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Eugène Curran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sorel's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
