If Milton Elkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sorel's Milton Elkins in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Erwood AFC's goalie prevented a goal. But to his dismay, Milton Elkins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sorel! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Milton Elkins made a kick off. In the 60th match minute, Sorel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Aviles to maneuver through the defense. Justin Lavoie might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugène Curran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Erwood AFC reached it. The audience was convinced that Justin Lavoie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugène Curran was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Sorel's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
