Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 0) Domenic Silva started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Golden booed when Erwood AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexis Yates didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Golden defense, Jarod Stephenson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stanton Koehler. The Golden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stanton Koehler should have stopped the shot. Roland Gaston hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, Golden's goal looked a bit too open when Justin Lavoie came free, but Stanton Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stanton Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eldon McCracken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 played minutes Golden got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Mailly. Stanton Koehler came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Erwood AFC's Eldon McCracken. But to his dismay, Eldon McCracken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justin Lavoie in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stanton Koehler saved Golden from getting behind. Gino Poirier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domenic Silva's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Erwood AFC's goalkeeper Gino Poirier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fredrick Paulson. In the 42nd minute, Golden's Fredrick Paulson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Domenic Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Poirier having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Justin Lavoie made a kick off. When Fredrick Paulson came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Golden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fredrick Paulson couldn't finish the play. Eldon McCracken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Stanton Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domenic Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Poirier having to interfere. Eldon McCracken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanton Koehler having to interfere. Stanton Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justin Lavoie in the 66th minute of play. Domenic Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gino Poirier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Broderick Napier fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Erwood AFC's protests and gave Broderick Napier a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, one of Erwood AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Erwood AFC. Stanton Koehler made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Eldon McCracken sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Golden's Roland Gaston got a free kick in the 91st minute. 95 minutes into the match, Erwood AFC's Eldon McCracken sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stanton Koehler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Justin Lavoie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Erwood AFC's Justin Lavoie in the 100th minute got a chance for a shot 100th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Golden's goalie prevented a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Erwood AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
