After 2 played minutes Summerland AFC got a freekick which was hit by Clement D'Avis. After a rather tough play, Erwood AFC's Nicodème Duclos got a free kick in the 6th minute. The attack was good, but when Norberto Lefebvre in the 8th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After some careless play in the Summerland AFC defense, Eldon McCracken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fermin Viens. The Summerland AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fermin Viens should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Summerland AFC's zone, Justin Lavoie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fermin Viens came out of the goal and Justin Lavoie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Summerland AFC's Fermin Viens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Summerland AFC from getting a goal against them. Monty Guevara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gino Poirier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gino Poirier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Guevara in the 23rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joshua Bolton during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joshua Bolton hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Justin Lavoie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monty Guevara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Summerland AFC's Monty Guevara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gino Poirier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 43 played minutes Summerland AFC got a freekick which was hit by Leon Coates. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cliff Généreux during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute, Cliff Généreux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48thth minute of the game Justin Lavoie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Summerland AFC's Fermin Viens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Summerland AFC's Monty Guevara got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erwood AFC's Gino Poirier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Guevara in the 61st minute of play. Norberto Lefebvre's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gino Poirier firmly grabbed it by the left post. Eldon McCracken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fermin Viens having to interfere. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Erwood AFC's goalkeeper Gino Poirier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Eldon McCracken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fermin Viens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justin Lavoie in the 89th minute of play. Justin Lavoie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fermin Viens having to interfere. With his leg Gino Poirier managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when Summerland AFC's Norberto Lefebvre fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Summerland AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Erwood AFC.
