Trent Peters hit a great ball. Fermin Viens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lester Walsh in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Summerland AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Luigi Bailey came free, but Fermin Viens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Monty Guevara in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donald Holliday saved Antigonish AFC from getting behind. If Norberto Lefebvre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Antigonish AFC's zone, Monty Guevara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donald Holliday came out of the goal and Monty Guevara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute Luigi Bailey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fermin Viens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lester Walsh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cliff Généreux fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Summerland AFC's protests and gave Cliff Généreux a yellow card for diving instead. Cliff Généreux kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34thth minute of the game Lester Walsh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Summerland AFC's Fermin Viens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Summerland AFC's zone, Luigi Bailey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fermin Viens came out of the goal and Luigi Bailey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Luigi Bailey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fermin Viens was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Norberto Lefebvre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Donald Holliday tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donald Holliday showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Lefebvre, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 69 played minutes, Antigonish AFC's Gregg Norris shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fermin Viens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Antigonish AFC reached it. If Luigi Bailey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Antigonish AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
