After a defensive mix-up in Patricia's zone, Milton Elkins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Ashley came out of the goal and Milton Elkins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Milton Elkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Peter Ashley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barrett Whitley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugène Curran having to interfere. Eugène Curran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otto Lake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barnabé Barber scored 0-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eugène Curran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Sorel booed when Patricia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raoul Cheek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Bray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Ashley having to interfere.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otto Lake stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Patricia's Otto Lake sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eugène Curran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 55 minutes into the game, Patricia's Barnabé Barber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eugène Curran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Otto Lake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. When Barnabé Barber came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Patricia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barnabé Barber couldn't finish the play. Peter Ashley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Bray's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Barrett Whitley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Eugène Curran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barnabé Barber in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eugène Curran, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 83 minutes into the match, Sorel's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Lake came free, but Eugène Curran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edmundo Bray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th match minute, Patricia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Buck Forbes to maneuver through the defense. Milton Elkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Patricia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
