Lucien Shea started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Lupe Nunez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barney Tucker was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. 8 minutes into the game, Caliber FC's François Harden nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Everett Deniger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. François Harden struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Everett Deniger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caliber FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Lupe Nunez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fitzgerald's supporters rose to their feet, but Lupe Nunez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barney Tucker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, Robby Merritt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Caliber FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lupe Nunez came free, but Barney Tucker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Lupe Nunez notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Caliber FC's Barney Tucker. Barney Tucker was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 27th minute Lucien Shea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everett Deniger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Everett Deniger didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Caliber FC's Lucien Shea shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-1 in the ordered_time% minute. When Robby Merritt came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Fitzgerald fans jumped to their feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers François Harden in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Everett Deniger saved Fitzgerald from getting behind. 55 minutes into the match, Caliber FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Merritt came free, but Barney Tucker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jérôme Bearden charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jérôme Bearden the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jérôme Bearden hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Irving Bunch kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Wallace Maynard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fitzgerald's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caliber FC the free kick. The supporters of Caliber FC booed when Fitzgerald was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wallace Maynard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barney Tucker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lupe Nunez in the 69th minute. Fitzgerald were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Caliber FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fiacre Garreau took the corner. Caliber FC's Irving Bunch got his second yellow card of the match in the 74th minute. The referee ordered Irving Bunch off the ground. The supporters of Fitzgerald booed when Caliber FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irving Bunch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lupe Nunez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wallace Maynard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Barney Tucker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lupe Nunez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barney Tucker having to interfere. Lupe Nunez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lupe Nunez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Barney Tucker made a huge save. If Lupe Nunez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Fitzgerald's Robby Merritt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Barney Tucker. That made the score 2-3 after 97 minutes of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fitzgerald walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
