After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Eliseo McFarland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thetford's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo McFarland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Kiser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dion Fagan in the 28th minute of play forced Whitkow AFC's goalkeeper Michael Kiser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michael Kiser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dion Fagan in the 30th minute of play. Nolan Davignon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Dennis having to interfere. Jimmy Dennis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nolan Davignon's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Nolan Davignon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Whitkow AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
