Canyon AFC's Colby Bermudez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dion Fagan in the 25th minute of play. Eliseo McFarland might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Colby Bermudez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo McFarland ran back to his position shaking his head. If Dion Fagan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Colby Bermudez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo McFarland in the 53rd minute of the match. When Jae Hardy fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canyon AFC's protests and gave Jae Hardy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute, one of Canyon AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Canyon AFC. The referee gave Thetford a penalty, 87 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Landon Busch, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Canyon AFC's Colby Bermudez. 2-1. 91 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Beaver was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thetford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canyon AFC the free kick.
