Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clark McCracken in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brendan Thompson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bernard Roth did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Brendan Thompson 19 minutes into the match. When Bruce Guthrie came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Oakville Oaks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruce Guthrie couldn't finish the play. Brendan Thompson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernard Roth, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Géraud Waite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bill McLain's shot from long distance in the 30th minute was not bad at all, but Calmar FC's Brendan Thompson knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernard Roth in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brendan Thompson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Calmar FC's Brendan Thompson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruce Guthrie in the 38th minute of play. Drew Kurtz kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. If Bernard Roth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Calmar FC's zone, Bill McLain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendan Thompson came out of the goal and Bill McLain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruce Guthrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Shaun McLeod to make the kick off. If Florencio Dawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th match minute, Calmar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Rouleau to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Oakville Oaks's Bill McLain broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Brendan Thompson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bill McLain's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Brendan Thompson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernard Roth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calmar FC's Brendan Thompson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bill McLain in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Oakville Oaks booed when Calmar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ross Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bill McLain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute, Bernard Roth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 71 minutes, Géraud Waite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calmar FC and the Oakville Oaks players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Calmar FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Géraud Waite hit a great ball. Bernard Roth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brendan Thompson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geoffrey Pritchard during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Calmar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geoffrey Pritchard to maneuver through the defense. Ashley Lazure's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brendan Thompson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Oakville Oaks fully deserved thier win.
