Herbert Thomason dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Herbert Thomason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Ducharme in the 26th minute of play. Davis Rowell succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Cecil Benavides might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herbert Thomason. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cecil Benavides ran back to his position shaking his head. Newbrook AFC's İlkan Karlukhan got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute of the match German Lécuyer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Timothy Landers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 44th minute, Albertville FC's Chase Stephens dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Herbert Thomason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecil Benavides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Houston Huggins made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, German Lécuyer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Albertville FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newbrook AFC the free kick. The supporters of Newbrook AFC booed when Albertville FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Lécuyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Carmona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Timothy Landers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
