When Kurtis North fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dauphin's protests and gave Kurtis North a yellow card for diving instead. Kurtis North hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, Issac Salois had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Omar Wright. Dauphin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Issac Salois was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Dauphin's Roman Gauthier got a free kick in the 9th minute. Rob Hughes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Omar Wright. Dauphin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Issac Salois recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Dauphin's Eldridge Autier slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Isidore Lott. That made the score 1-1 after 16 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telesphore Louis in the 19th minute of play forced Dauphin's goalkeeper Omar Wright to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omar Wright showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Issac Salois, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, Dauphin's goal looked a bit too open when Issac Salois came free, but Omar Wright reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Issac Salois's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Omar Wright was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Eldridge Autier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Isidore Lott made a huge save. Leonard Horn charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonard Horn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Dauphin booed when Antigonish was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Horn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Telesphore Louis to strike the kick off in the second half.
