With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Charlesbois in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dustin Parrot saved Jellicoe AFC from getting behind. Logan Lyon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Frédéric Witherspoon made a huge save. Jospeh Flynn struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Frédéric Witherspoon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jellicoe AFC. Darren McMahon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dustin Parrot having to interfere. Alfonzo Melendez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dustin Parrot. One of Hartland AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jellicoe AFC:s goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jospeh Flynn to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Scott Albert sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Dustin Parrot threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Scott Albert this time. The Hartland AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hartland AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
