With an all-out effort, Verwood's Ernie Ford threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Saul Deschenes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 60th minute, Saul Deschenes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ernie Ford. The goal made the score 2-1. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Ernie Ford successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Bruno's attack was well implemented in the 66th minute, but when Harland Hubbard was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over.
