In the 11th match minute, Whitney was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kirby Kearns to maneuver through the defense. Verwood's Billy Casgrain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarrod Riel in the 13th minute of play. When Caleb Bird fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verwood's protests and gave Caleb Bird a yellow card for diving instead. Caleb Bird kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Whitney's Rodger McKinnon got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jarrod Riel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy Casgrain having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Deschenes in the 23rd minute of play forced Whitney's goalkeeper Tyson Munoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verwood's Eric Bonilla got his second yellow card of the match in the 24th minute. The referee ordered Eric Bonilla off the ground. A collision led to Verwood getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Eric Bonilla hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarrod Riel in the 30th minute of play forced Verwood's goalkeeper Billy Casgrain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodger McKinnon in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Casgrain saved Verwood from getting behind. Tyson Munoz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caleb Bird in the 44th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kirby Kearns during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kirby Kearns kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The supporters of Verwood booed when Whitney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kirby Kearns didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Caleb Bird made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Caleb Bird shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyson Munoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kirby Kearns was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 62nd match minute, Whitney was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kirby Kearns to maneuver through the defense. Tyson Munoz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saul Deschenes went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The ball had pretty good speed, but Billy Casgrain firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jarrod Riel kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Verwood's Caleb Bird got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 minutes, Whitney Sansouci mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Whitney and the Verwood players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Whitney getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Whitney Sansouci hit a great ball. Rodger McKinnon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Billy Casgrain made a huge save. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Verwood's goalkeeper Billy Casgrain, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Verwood were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Whitney for a fine match.
