Spectators: 6715 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 0) Esmé Huff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyson Munoz having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Esmé Huff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tyson Munoz was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Tyson Munoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Winston Elder in the 8th minute of the match. Corin McKay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarrod Riel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Esmé Huff came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Hondo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esmé Huff couldn't finish the play. Humberto Tucker lost his temper 15 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Whitney! In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Hondo. Urbain Ramirez stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tyson Munoz. 0-1. Esmé Huff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Esmé Huff came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Hondo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esmé Huff couldn't finish the play. Rodger McKinnon might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Corin McKay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodger McKinnon ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Kirby Kearns managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whitney's supporters rose to their feet, but Kirby Kearns was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corin McKay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tyson Munoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esmé Huff, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. A collision led to Whitney getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Whitney Sansouci hit a great ball. Esmé Huff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Whitney defense, Esmé Huff kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tyson Munoz. The Whitney fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tyson Munoz should have stopped the shot. Urbain Ramirez kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Corin McKay acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Kim Moreau.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esmé Huff to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Kirby Kearns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Whitney Sansouci came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Whitney fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Whitney Sansouci couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Hondo getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Esmé Huff hit a great ball. After having played for 65 minutes, Rodger McKinnon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodger McKinnon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 67 minutes into the game, Rodger McKinnon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Whitney's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hondo the free kick. After a rather tough play, Whitney's Rodger McKinnon got a free kick in the 67th minute. The supporters of Hondo booed when Whitney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kendall Kilgore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hondo's Esmé Huff got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 73 played minutes Whitney got a freekick which was hit by Kirby Kearns. Tyson Munoz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Winston Elder in the 74th minute. Tyson Munoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esmé Huff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
