The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rico Stringer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saul Deschenes in the 3rd minute of the match. Rico Stringer was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Freddy Knox. 10 minutes into the match, Verwood's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Fitzpatrick came free, but Billy Casgrain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Monitor booed when Verwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Knox didn't get a good kick on the ball. Billy Casgrain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chi McKee in the 22nd minute of play. Jay Fitzpatrick struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Billy Casgrain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monitor. Verwood's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monitor the free kick. 35 minutes into the game, one of Verwood:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Chi McKee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monitor's goalkeeper Rico Stringer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Lynwood Margand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 62nd minute, Chi McKee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jay Fitzpatrick managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monitor's supporters rose to their feet, but Jay Fitzpatrick was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 95 played minutes Monitor got a freekick which was hit by Chi McKee. Monitor played a much better game than Verwood and deserved their victory. The Verwood players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
