Carmine Tripp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickie Aragon, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Tyrone Fitzpatrick notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Carmine Tripp. Carmine Tripp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waylon Zapata during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Red Deer's Waylon Zapata got a free kick in the 17th minute. A collision led to Red Deer getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Marcellus Richer hit a great ball. When Red Deer's Rickie Aragon in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Qikiqtarjuaq FC's goalie prevented a goal. Eloy Dowdy kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Carmine Tripp stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rickie Aragon's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Percy Maher might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carmine Tripp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Percy Maher ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute, Keith Diaz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Red Deer fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Carmine Tripp stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rickie Aragon's shot from short distance in the 48th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Trujillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Tyrone Fitzpatrick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Rickie Aragon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Deer's supporters rose to their feet, but Rickie Aragon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carmine Tripp breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Carmine Tripp got control of the ball when Rickie Aragon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rickie Aragon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franklyn Forbes during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antoine Tardif in the 63rd minute of play forced Red Deer's goalkeeper Hilton Guy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rickie Aragon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Carmine Tripp made a huge save. Rickie Aragon came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carmine Tripp could save by the left post. Rickie Aragon in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carmine Tripp, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the Qikiqtarjuaq FC defense, Rickie Aragon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carmine Tripp. The Qikiqtarjuaq FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carmine Tripp should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 81 in the game by Rickie Aragon from a close distance when the talented Carmine Tripp managed to make a qualified save. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's players were relieved. Keith Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Carmine Tripp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Qikiqtarjuaq FC from getting a goal against them. Red Deer played a much better game than Qikiqtarjuaq FC and deserved their victory. The Qikiqtarjuaq FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
