In the 12thth minute of the game Dale Esparza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Smithville's Lavern Rutherford was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Garrett Giguère dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Boniface Fleming, 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, Lavaltrie AFC's goalkeeper Boniface Fleming had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Derek Lincoln. Arden Rousseau succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 27th playminute. When Derek Lincoln came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Smithville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derek Lincoln couldn't finish the play. Boniface Fleming made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garrett Giguère in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Dale Esparza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lavaltrie AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dale Esparza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dale Esparza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Smithville's Lavern Rutherford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Smithville from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Smithville booed when Lavaltrie AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphaël Horn didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lavaltrie AFC's Terence Gibson got a free kick in the 72nd minute.
