The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Ezequiel Ennis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Norwood and the Halvorgate players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Norwood getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Boyd Coffman hit a great ball. Maurice Barrière might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marc Gervais. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurice Barrière ran back to his position shaking his head. Marc Gervais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rocky Denton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rocky Denton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Gervais having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Guillermo Elliot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hector Brock was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Gaspard Cortes charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaspard Cortes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th match minute, Halvorgate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspard Cortes to maneuver through the defense. Sherwood Jean struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Hector Brock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Norwood. After a rather tough play, Halvorgate's Booker Zeigler got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 32ndth minute of the game Sherwood Jean who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Halvorgate's Hector Brock was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 33rd minute Guillermo Elliot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Brock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Sherwood Jean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Norwood's supporters rose to their feet, but Sherwood Jean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hector Brock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ezequiel Ennis kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Maurice Barrière ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marc Gervais was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rocky Denton was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sherwood Jean in the 58th minute of play forced Halvorgate's goalkeeper Hector Brock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillermo Elliot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Brock having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Maurice Barrière cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Marc Gervais was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Norwood getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Régis Dodge hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute Rocky Denton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Gervais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurice Barrière received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Marc Gervais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78thth minute of the game Rocky Denton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Norwood's Marc Gervais was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Norwood's Teddy Peralta got a free kick in the 85th minute. Halvorgate were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Norwood's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Efrain Duval took the corner. Halvorgate's Efrain Duval was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marc Gervais in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Guillermo Elliot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sherwood Jean in the 97th minute of play forced Halvorgate's goalkeeper Hector Brock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Halvorgate fans cheered their team off the field, for while Norwood had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
