Derek Lincoln recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pavilion AFC's goalkeeper Jeramy Witt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeramy Witt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Derek Lincoln, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Garrett Giguère in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeramy Witt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Garrett Giguère's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeramy Witt was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Earle Ouellet in the 68th minute of play forced Smithville's goalkeeper Lavern Rutherford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
