Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Edmonton's goal looked a bit too open when Neal Benjamin came free, but Zack Chatman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lane Echeverri had several of the Lloydminster FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 20 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Lance Duplessis as he didn't even see the shot coming. Lloydminster FC's Lance Duplessis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lane Echeverri in the 24th minute of play. Zack Chatman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neal Benjamin, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 27 played minutes Lloydminster FC got a freekick which was hit by Rene Witherspoon. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carey McWilliams during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lloydminster FC booed when Edmonton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carey McWilliams didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Mayberry kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. If Lane Echeverri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lloydminster FC's Lance Duplessis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ljungberg in the 39th minute of play. Emanuel Ljungberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lance Duplessis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lane Echeverri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Duplessis having to interfere. Edmonton's Emanuel Ljungberg got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lane Echeverri to make the kick off. Lance Duplessis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Ljungberg in the 57th minute of the match. Lance Duplessis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baptiste Poirier in the 61st minute of play. Baptiste Poirier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lance Duplessis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Lane Echeverri hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Lance Duplessis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lane Echeverri in the 69th minute of the match. If Lane Echeverri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lance Duplessis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 86thth minute of the game Baptiste Poirier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lloydminster FC's Lance Duplessis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lane Echeverri struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Lance Duplessis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edmonton. Lane Echeverri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baptiste Poirier in the 95th minute of play forced Lloydminster FC's goalkeeper Lance Duplessis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
