Spectators: 6718 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 0) Michael Barnes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Jimmy Chicoine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Randell Monrency in the 3rd minute of play. Gonzalo Whittington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonzalo Whittington got free with Jimmy Chicoine in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kerry Wilkes in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvin Bonds saved Merritt FC from getting behind. After having played for 13 minutes, Kerry Wilkes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Revelstoke AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kerry Wilkes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dorian Erickson scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvin Bonds, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kerry Wilkes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Alvin Bonds tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael Barnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 30 minutes, Cesar Blackman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merritt FC and the Revelstoke AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Merritt FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Blackman to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Revelstoke AFC defense, Gonzalo Whittington kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jimmy Chicoine. The Revelstoke AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jimmy Chicoine should have stopped the shot. If Michael Barnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Randell Monrency fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Chicoine having to interfere. If Gonzalo Whittington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Randell Monrency made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Revelstoke AFC got a freekick which was hit by Arron Lee. Jimmy Chicoine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Randell Monrency, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jake Jennings's late challenge caught a Merritt FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jake Jennings helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 minutes of play, Merritt FC's Randell Monrency made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jimmy Chicoine was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 62nd match minute, Merritt FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Blackman to maneuver through the defense. Kerry Wilkes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jimmy Chicoine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Randell Monrency's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. In the 74th minute, Gonzalo Whittington left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merritt FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 79th minute, Cesar Blackman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jimmy Chicoine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Randell Monrency in the 83rd minute of the match. If Gonzalo Whittington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jimmy Chicoine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Randell Monrency, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Michael Barnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Alvin Bonds tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Merritt FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
