Jackie Lambert dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Trenton Tremblay struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Zack Chatman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FlashBobcat. Trenton Tremblay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zack Chatman having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, FlashBobcat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Vadnais to maneuver through the defense. Baptiste Poirier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricky Kiser kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Santo Boyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Zack Chatman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 minutes of play, Edmonton's Baptiste Poirier made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jackie Lambert was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th minute Santos Blum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zack Chatman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Sean Eubanks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ricky Kiser was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 27 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, FlashBobcat's Ricky Kiser got a free kick in the 28th minute. Zack Chatman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clarence Hurst in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FlashBobcat's zone, Baptiste Poirier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jackie Lambert came out of the goal and Baptiste Poirier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zack Chatman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santos Blum, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Terrence Osborne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lane Echeverri might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jackie Lambert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lane Echeverri ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lane Echeverri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, FlashBobcat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santo Boyd to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the FlashBobcat defense, Lane Echeverri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jackie Lambert. The FlashBobcat fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jackie Lambert should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Blum in the 55th minute of play forced Edmonton's goalkeeper Zack Chatman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jackie Lambert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lane Echeverri, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trenton Tremblay got free with Zack Chatman in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Santo Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George York during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Edmonton's George York got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 74th minute Santos Blum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zack Chatman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santo Boyd kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Baptiste Poirier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Terrence Osborne fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Edmonton's protests and gave Terrence Osborne a yellow card for diving instead. 95 minutes into the game, one of Edmonton:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Zack Chatman had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Taylor Head's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball The crowd rose to their feet as Taylor Head kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zack Chatman. That made the score 4-1 in the 96 minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the FlashBobcat players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Edmonton.
