Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Randell Monrency sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Bart Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzalo Whittington who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Cyrille Simmons when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alvin Bonds made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bart Ramos in the 14th minute of play. Fingal's Humbert Starr got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Fingal's goalkeeper Cyrille Simmons, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th match minute, Merritt FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Blackman to maneuver through the defense. Clair Melendez, 27 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 28th minute, Bart Ramos made a precise shot to the right of Alvin Bonds. Merritt FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Bart Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute Humbert Starr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvin Bonds saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Randell Monrency to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Gonzalo Whittington had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cyrille Simmons. Fingal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gonzalo Whittington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. With a little luck, Merritt FC's Alvin Bonds got control of the ball when Zachary Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Merritt FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Joachim Betts hit a great ball. In the 74th match minute, Merritt FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Daoust to maneuver through the defense. Herman Paré kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Fingal's Cyrille Simmons played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Whittington in the 82nd minute of play. Cyrille Simmons showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Whittington in the 89th minute of the match. After having played for 92 minutes, Bart Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fingal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bart Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Many of Fingal's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Fingal may have spent more time on the ball, but Merritt FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
