Neal Benjamin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th match minute, Shawenegan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Devin Landry to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Valéry Elliott was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shawenegan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lloydminster FC the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Shawenegan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valéry Elliott to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Frank Mayberry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jayson Maher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Shelton Ménard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valéry Elliott in the 32nd minute of play forced Lloydminster FC's goalkeeper Lance Duplessis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lance Duplessis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sanford Gauthier's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Stanton Loiseau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stanton Loiseau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Duplessis having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, Lloydminster FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Witherspoon to maneuver through the defense. Sanford Gauthier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sanford Gauthier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frank Mayberry during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lloydminster FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Frank Mayberry hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the match, Shawenegan FC's Porter McCord broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 55th minute, Sanford Gauthier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shelton Ménard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jayson Maher in the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Shawenegan FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Devin Landry hit a great ball. Jayson Maher struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Shelton Ménard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lloydminster FC. Stanton Loiseau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Lance Duplessis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neal Benjamin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shelton Ménard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jayson Maher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 76 minutes, Shawn Ruel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shawenegan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shawn Ruel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Stanton Loiseau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sanford Gauthier struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Lance Duplessis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shawenegan FC. Lance Duplessis came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Shawenegan FC's Stanton Loiseau. But to his dismay, Stanton Loiseau quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Shelton Ménard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neal Benjamin, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Shelton Ménard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neal Benjamin in the 88th minute of play. Neal Benjamin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Shelton Ménard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Shawenegan FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
