Georges Waters blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Fluet having to make a save. In the 29th minute, Jerald Panetier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Basil Richmond recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christian Fluet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Georges Waters in the 35th minute. Basil Richmond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. After some careless play in the Goshen defense, Patrick Rosado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maximilien Pelchat. The Goshen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maximilien Pelchat should have stopped the shot. Patrick Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patrick Rosado made a kick off. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Matapedia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Goshen:s goal. Cary Shea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Maximilien Pelchat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith Hoffman in the 74th minute of play forced Matapedia's goalkeeper Christian Fluet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Keith Hoffman in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christian Fluet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute Georges Waters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Fluet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Matapedia's zone, Georges Waters stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Fluet came out of the goal and Georges Waters tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Georges Waters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
