The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Odis Ledford came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Middlebro AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Odis Ledford couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Middlebro AFC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Virgilio Cornell hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Middlebro AFC's goalkeeper Cedric Waller had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Weston Ervin. After a rather tough play, Middlebro AFC's Virgilio Cornell got a free kick in the 18th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Cedric Waller successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Truman Lawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cedric Waller having to interfere. After 33 played minutes, Hondo's Otto Gillespie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cedric Waller came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hondo reached it. Johnny Epperson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodolphe Rucker's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Virgilio Cornell hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, Weston Ervin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Johnny Epperson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odis Ledford in the 44th minute of the match. Rodolphe Rucker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Johnny Epperson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Odis Ledford was the one to do the kick off. Otto Gillespie walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Hondo's Truman Lawson in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Truman Lawson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Middlebro AFC's zone, Truman Lawson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cedric Waller came out of the goal and Truman Lawson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Odis Ledford in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Epperson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute Truman Lawson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cedric Waller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Weston Ervin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cedric Waller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Truman Lawson in the 90th minute of the match. Weston Ervin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Cedric Waller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, one of Middlebro AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Middlebro AFC. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
