Salvador Elliott recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 28 played minutes Bonavista got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Pichette. In the 32ndth minute of the game Gene Soucy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Helston AFC's Mose Andersen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Gene Soucy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bonavista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gene Soucy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bryant Lovett got free with Mose Andersen in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salvador Elliott in the 40th minute of play forced Bonavista's goalkeeper Lauren Rankin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Bryant Lovett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Bryant Lovett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bonavista's supporters rose to their feet, but Bryant Lovett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mose Andersen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Gene Soucy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mose Andersen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The supporters of Bonavista booed when Helston AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Steiner didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Bonavista's goalkeeper Lauren Rankin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vicente Pouchard. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Gene Soucy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bonavista's supporters rose to their feet, but Gene Soucy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mose Andersen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bonavista had won after a very even match.
