Spectators: 6733 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ramiro Grubb took the kick off in the first half of the match. Lauren Rankin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Grubb in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute, Davidson FC's Ramiro Grubb ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lauren Rankin. Lauren Rankin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 8th minute, Gene Soucy made a precise shot to the right of Esmé Britt. Davidson FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Garth Bassett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauren Rankin having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Grubb in the 13th minute of play forced Bonavista's goalkeeper Lauren Rankin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 played minutes Davidson FC got a freekick which was hit by Raleigh Thibault. After having played for 22 minutes, Gene Soucy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bonavista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gene Soucy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gene Soucy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Davidson FC's Ramiro Grubb got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gene Soucy in the 32nd minute of play forced Davidson FC's goalkeeper Esmé Britt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esmé Britt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryant Lovett in the 40th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elmer Hodges during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Grubb in the 46th minute of play forced Bonavista's goalkeeper Lauren Rankin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Garth Bassett got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gene Soucy to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryant Lovett in the 53rd minute of play forced Davidson FC's goalkeeper Esmé Britt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Garth Bassett came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Davidson FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garth Bassett couldn't finish the play. Garth Bassett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Lauren Rankin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esmé Britt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gene Soucy in the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Davidson FC's zone, Bryant Lovett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esmé Britt came out of the goal and Bryant Lovett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Elmer Hodges was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. In the 74th match minute, Davidson FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmer Hodges to maneuver through the defense. Esmé Britt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gene Soucy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bonavista's Bryant Lovett got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The attack was good, but when Bryant Lovett in the 83rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Lauren Rankin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Bassett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lauren Rankin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Bassett in the 89th minute of play. If Garth Bassett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Quintin Ratté hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garth Bassett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lauren Rankin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Garth Bassett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauren Rankin having to interfere.
