Gene Soucy charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gene Soucy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In a very dangerous position, a player in Sandspit FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! After 58 played minutes Bonavista got a freekick which was hit by Baptiste Burke. After 61 minutes of play, Bonavista's Bryant Lovett made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Grégoire Rosas was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Gene Soucy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bonavista's supporters rose to their feet, but Gene Soucy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grégoire Rosas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Salvador Beausoleil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th match minute, Sandspit FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chi McMahon to maneuver through the defense. In the 99th minute, Auguste Goguen sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sandspit FC's Grégoire Rosas didn't even have to move. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bonavista had won after a very even match.
