With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fritz Purvis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fritz Purvis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Rosado in the 23rd minute of play. Fritz Purvis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Matapedia's goal looked a bit too open when Alphonso Dove came free, but Christian Fluet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 80 minutes, Patrick Rosado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matapedia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Rosado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Basil Richmond had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fritz Purvis. Gravenhurst's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basil Richmond was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Basil Richmond struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. The audience was convinced that Patrick Rosado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fritz Purvis was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Christian Fluet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alphonso Dove in the 97th minute of the match.
