In the 18th minute of the match Auguste Goguen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Fluet skillfully saved the ball. In the 20thth minute of the game Bryant Lovett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matapedia's Christian Fluet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christian Fluet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gene Soucy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patrick Rosado made a kick off. Basil Richmond recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 54 played minutes Matapedia got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Villanueva. In the 59th minute Patrick Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauren Rankin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bryant Lovett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Matapedia booed when Bonavista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Onesime Forrest didn't get a good kick on the ball.
