Alphonso Dove fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mose Andersen having to interfere. Mose Andersen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alphonso Dove, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the game, Gravenhurst's Carmen Fagan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mose Andersen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salvador Elliott in the 36th minute of play forced Gravenhurst's goalkeeper Fritz Purvis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Pouchard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fritz Purvis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Alphonso Dove got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Helston AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gravenhurst were winning 0-1.

In the 54th minute, Carmen Fagan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mose Andersen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Salvador Elliott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Fritz Purvis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fritz Purvis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Elliott, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robert Larocque during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Robert Larocque hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Gravenhurst got a freekick which was hit by Elmo Lake. Helston AFC's Vicente Pouchard got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicholas Waite's late challenge caught a Helston AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicholas Waite helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute, one of Gravenhurst:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gravenhurst. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Helston AFC. Eddy Gingras stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fritz Purvis. 1-2. Carmen Fagan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mose Andersen having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, Salvador Elliott had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fritz Purvis. Gravenhurst's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Salvador Elliott was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The Gravenhurst players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Helston AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
