The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Bonavista's Baptiste Burke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maximilien Pelchat narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lauren Rankin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keith Hoffman in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Keith Hoffman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lauren Rankin, 1-0. Bryant Lovett scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maximilien Pelchat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lauren Rankin made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Georges Waters sent off a good shot on target. Bruno Bartlett charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruno Bartlett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 14 played minutes Goshen got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Bartlett. 16 minutes into the game, Gene Soucy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Maximilien Pelchat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lauren Rankin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith Hoffman in the 23rd minute of play. With a little luck, Bonavista's Lauren Rankin got control of the ball when Georges Waters tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maximilien Pelchat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryant Lovett in the 31st minute of the match. Keith Hoffman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerald Panetier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Lauren Rankin made a huge save. In the 44th minute, Jerald Panetier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximilien Pelchat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gene Soucy, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Keith Hoffman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Bonavista were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gene Soucy made the kick off in the second half. Lauren Rankin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georges Waters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bryant Lovett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute Gene Soucy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximilien Pelchat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georges Waters might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lauren Rankin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Georges Waters ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georges Waters in the 66th minute of play forced Bonavista's goalkeeper Lauren Rankin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bryant Lovett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximilien Pelchat having to interfere. When Bonavista's Gene Soucy in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goshen's goalie prevented a goal. A nice corner shot did that Raphaël Kuhn got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lauren Rankin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that Keith Hoffman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lauren Rankin was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Gene Soucy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauren Rankin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Georges Waters's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Keith Hoffman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Lauren Rankin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gene Soucy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
