The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ramiro Grubb was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 3rd minute. Davidson FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Grubb in the 4th minute of play forced Sandspit FC's goalkeeper Grégoire Rosas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garth Bassett struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Grégoire Rosas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Davidson FC. After a defensive mix-up in Davidson FC's zone, Salvador Beausoleil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esmé Britt came out of the goal and Salvador Beausoleil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Esmé Britt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Salvador Beausoleil's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Clayton Boudreaux managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandspit FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Clayton Boudreaux was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esmé Britt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandspit FC's Salvador Beausoleil got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Salvador Beausoleil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esmé Britt having to interfere. Grégoire Rosas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Grubb in the 25th minute of play. In the 35th minute Salvador Beausoleil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esmé Britt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandspit FC's Grégoire Rosas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Sandspit FC from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ramiro Grubb in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Grégoire Rosas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 54 minutes into the match, Sandspit FC's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Bassett came free, but Grégoire Rosas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grégoire Rosas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Grubb, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 59thth minute of the game Ramiro Grubb who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sandspit FC's Grégoire Rosas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Garth Bassett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Grégoire Rosas having to make a save. When Ramiro Grubb came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Davidson FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Grubb couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute, Salvador Beausoleil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Davidson FC's Esmé Britt got control of the ball when Salvador Beausoleil tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grégoire Rosas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Garth Bassett went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Grégoire Rosas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Grubb, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Amos Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amos Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Davidson FC booed when Sandspit FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amos Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Davidson FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
