In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stry FC's goalkeeper Bradford Spencer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrew Prescott during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rothesay FC booed when Stry FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrew Prescott didn't get a good kick on the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Hétu in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Will Kearney saved Rothesay FC from getting behind. 57 minutes into the match, Rothesay FC's goalkeeper Will Kearney had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrew Prescott. 59 minutes into the game, Sylvester Shoemaker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rothesay FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stry FC the free kick. Grant Leonard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradford Spencer having to interfere. Rothesay FC's Will Kearney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Rothesay FC from getting a goal against them. In the 94th match minute, Rothesay FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Mock to maneuver through the defense. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rothesay FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kelley Fleming was slow to take the kick. During this time Stry FC's players had a chance to rest. Rothesay FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
