Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Forrest Guzman kicked off to start the match. The nice shot from Lyle Boyce in the 4thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Tommie Gougeon had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 5th minute, Lyle Boyce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Niagara's Tommie Gougeon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorsey Hearn in the 7th minute of play. In the 7th match minute, Niagara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence Lagueux to maneuver through the defense. Dorsey Hearn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommie Gougeon having to interfere. In the 15th minute of the match Roderick Grimm shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernesto Deschamps showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto LaCaille during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Roberto LaCaille hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Forrest Guzman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernesto Deschamps read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Miniota was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto LaCaille to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Shipp in the 27th minute of play forced Miniota's goalkeeper Ernesto Deschamps to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Niagara's goal looked a bit too open when Dorsey Hearn came free, but Tommie Gougeon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lyle Boyce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute Dorsey Hearn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommie Gougeon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Shipp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Deschamps having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Shipp in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Deschamps prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorsey Hearn to make the kick off. Ernesto Deschamps took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Gauthier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the match, Miniota's goal looked a bit too open when Forrest Guzman came free, but Ernesto Deschamps reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adam Shipp hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Dorsey Hearn blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommie Gougeon having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorsey Hearn in the 60th minute of play forced Niagara's goalkeeper Tommie Gougeon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto Deschamps was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ty Francoeur. Dorsey Hearn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommie Gougeon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lyle Boyce in the 71st minute of play. Tommie Gougeon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lyle Boyce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
