The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Barton McCloud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tadoussac AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Barton McCloud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Javier Pringle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Tadoussac AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Barton McCloud hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernand Delaney in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Philibert Margand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 26 played minutes Tadoussac AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gaétan Parks. Gaétan Parks hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Clifton Veilleux was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tadoussac AFC's Daniel Archambault got a free kick in the 30th minute. Marion Metzger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Philibert Margand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 34 minutes, Fernand Delaney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tilting AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernand Delaney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marion Metzger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gaétan Parks fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tadoussac AFC's protests and gave Gaétan Parks a yellow card for diving instead. Gaétan Parks hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute of the match Clifton Veilleux shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Philibert Margand showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Fernand Delaney had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Philibert Margand. Tadoussac AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernand Delaney was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
