In the 3rd minute, Valentin Aviles fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Son Hackett kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wally Todd. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Wilbert Bellamy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chang Leon in the 8th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Taylor Chrétien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cambridge's Valentin Aviles got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wally Todd made an important save on a dangerous shot by Son Hackett in the 17th minute. After a rather tough play, Yarmouth AFC's Adolph Castle got a free kick in the 18th minute. Cambridge's Anibal Parnell couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Yarmouth AFC. Reinaldo Floyd hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Nicolas Bishop's late challenge caught a Yarmouth AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. A very good chance for a goal. Valentin Aviles struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Wally Todd didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cambridge. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chang Leon in the 45th minute of play forced Cambridge's goalkeeper Wilbert Bellamy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
Chang Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilbert Bellamy having to interfere. Wilbert Bellamy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chang Leon in the 55th minute of the match. Dong Maloney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Wilbert Bellamy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dong Maloney fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yarmouth AFC's protests and gave Dong Maloney a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Yarmouth AFC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Dong Maloney hit a great ball. After 64 played minutes Yarmouth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adolph Castle. The supporters of Cambridge booed when Yarmouth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymon Lee didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Aviles in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wally Todd saved Yarmouth AFC from getting behind. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yarmouth AFC's goalkeeper Wally Todd, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Valentin Aviles came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Cambridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Aviles couldn't finish the play. Wally Todd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Aviles in the 84th minute of the match. Wally Todd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Son Hackett, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Cambridge's goalkeeper Wilbert Bellamy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dong Maloney. 92 minutes into the match, Cambridge's goal looked a bit too open when Chang Leon came free, but Wilbert Bellamy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dong Maloney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wally Todd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Son Hackett, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cambridge had won after a very even match.
