Spectators: 6733 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Samual Flint made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute, Augustine Duclos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Haileybury's Ollie Rhéaume didn't even have to move. Hilton Byrd was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. Vermillion's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Kris Guillory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vermillion's zone, Maurice Gaines stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roland Meier came out of the goal and Maurice Gaines tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augustine Duclos lost his temper 14 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 14th minute, one of Vermillion:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vermillion. Dustin Austin placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Maurice Gaines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Meier having to interfere. Roland Meier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurice Gaines in the 29th minute of play. If Fausto Johnston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Haileybury's zone, Hilton Byrd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ollie Rhéaume came out of the goal and Hilton Byrd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute Maurice Gaines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Meier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Dillon Whitt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vermillion's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haileybury the free kick. A collision led to Vermillion getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Dillon Whitt hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maurice Gaines to make the kick off. Ollie Rhéaume took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilton Byrd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Vermillion's Roland Meier got control of the ball when Maurice Gaines tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Maurice Gaines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vermillion's Roland Meier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Vermillion from getting a goal against them. Roland Meier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Guillory in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Maurice Gaines made a precise shot to the right of Roland Meier. Vermillion's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Roland Meier made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Maurice Gaines sent off a good shot on target. Kris Guillory struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Roland Meier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Haileybury. 84 minutes into the game, Maurice Gaines cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Roland Meier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Haileybury's Ollie Rhéaume played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilton Byrd in the 88th minute of play. Maurice Gaines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Roland Meier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Kris Guillory came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Haileybury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kris Guillory couldn't finish the play. If Maurice Gaines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kris Guillory could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Roland Meier made a huge save. When the match was over Haileybury could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vermillion throughout the match.
