Burt Benoit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Weber in the 8th minute of play. In the 15th minute, one of Whitworth AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Whitworth AFC. The supporters of Wingard booed when Whitworth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theirn Bray didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes Wingard got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Weber. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Whitworth AFC's goalkeeper Burt Benoit, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. James Wise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burt Benoit having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Felipe Thomson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Burt Benoit was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 46th minute, Emmanuel Hope hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gene Shepard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Alvaro Beverly when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thibault Draper made a kick off. Thibault Draper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers James Wise in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Burt Benoit saved Whitworth AFC from getting behind. If Felipe Thomson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. Burt Benoit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léopold Boyd, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Alvaro Beverly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thibault Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90thth minute of the game James Wise who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Whitworth AFC's Burt Benoit was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alvaro Beverly stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thibault Draper's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Wingard's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
