Hilton Byrd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Vermillion's goalkeeper Roland Meier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darrin Burkhart. In the 25th minute, Hilton Byrd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samual Flint made a kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darrin Burkhart couldn't finish the play. Roland Meier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Huerta in the 59th minute of the match. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Shalalth FC. Perry Jalbert stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Roland Meier. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keith Coupart during the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, Vermillion's Laurence Dyer got a free kick in the 75th minute. Shalalth FC's Perry Jalbert couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 76th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vermillion. After a defensive mix-up in Vermillion's zone, Darrin Burkhart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roland Meier came out of the goal and Darrin Burkhart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laurence Dyer charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laurence Dyer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vermillion getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Laurence Dyer hit a great ball. In the 87th minute of the match Perry Jalbert shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roland Meier showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Huerta in the 89th minute of play forced Vermillion's goalkeeper Roland Meier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Darrin Burkhart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Joel Huerta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roland Meier was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The supporters of Shalalth FC booed when Vermillion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurence Dyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roland Meier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shalalth FC. After a defensive mix-up in Vermillion's zone, Joel Huerta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roland Meier came out of the goal and Joel Huerta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Shalalth FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
