Spectators: 6719 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 0) Thibault Draper made the kick off and thus started the match. Gene Shepard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Roland Meier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vermillion's Roland Meier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gene Shepard in the 6th minute of play. If Gene Shepard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Thibault Draper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland Meier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thibault Draper in the 14th minute of play. Burt Benoit stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samual Flint's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Gene Shepard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 20 minutes, Gene Shepard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitworth AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gene Shepard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dillon Whitt's late challenge caught a Whitworth AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dillon Whitt helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vermillion's Dillon Whitt got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 30th match minute, Whitworth AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Géraud Parnell to maneuver through the defense. Hilton Byrd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dominique Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Gene Shepard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whitworth AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gene Shepard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Meier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gene Shepard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samual Flint stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vermillion's Samual Flint got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sal Godin's late challenge caught a Vermillion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sal Godin helped the player get up and apologised. After 54 played minutes Whitworth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Sal Godin. In the 58th minute Thibault Draper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Meier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 played minutes Whitworth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rodrick Foley. Hilton Byrd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gene Shepard got free with Roland Meier in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Burt Benoit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilton Byrd, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Hilton Byrd struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Burt Benoit didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vermillion. 78 minutes into the match, Whitworth AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Samual Flint came free, but Burt Benoit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Whitworth AFC's Gene Shepard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roland Meier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Samual Flint blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Burt Benoit having to make a save. A hard shot 88 in the game by Gene Shepard from a close distance when the talented Roland Meier managed to make a qualified save. Vermillion's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Vermillion's Fred McClure got a free kick in the 90th minute. Gene Shepard in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Roland Meier, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thibault Draper in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roland Meier saved Vermillion from getting behind.
