James Wise in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hal Reece, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barry Hughes in the 17th minute of play forced Wingard's goalkeeper Alvaro Beverly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvaro Beverly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Alvaro Beverly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Cuevas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, James Wise managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wingard's supporters rose to their feet, but James Wise was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hal Reece breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Léopold Boyd came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Wingard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Léopold Boyd couldn't finish the play. Hal Reece stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of James Wise's shot from short distance in the 41st minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when James Wise stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Gronlid AFC's zone, James Wise stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hal Reece came out of the goal and James Wise tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Wingard's James Wise in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gronlid AFC's goalie prevented a goal. After 64 minutes, James Wise mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wingard and the Gronlid AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that James Wise's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hal Reece was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. If Lorenzo Cuevas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Barry Hughes came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Gronlid AFC fans jumped to their feet. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Felipe Thomson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wingard's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Thomson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hal Reece breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
