The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thomas Cortez hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Haileybury's zone, Thomas Cortez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ollie Rhéaume came out of the goal and Thomas Cortez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Maurice Gaines came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Haileybury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurice Gaines couldn't finish the play. Maurice Gaines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Anselme Chalifour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselme Chalifour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurice Gaines in the 15th minute of the match. When Albert Beaulac came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Gaultois AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albert Beaulac couldn't finish the play. Maurice Gaines struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Anselme Chalifour didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Haileybury. In the 22nd minute, Kris Guillory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Maurice Gaines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anselme Chalifour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris Guillory in the 26th minute of the match. Anselme Chalifour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurice Gaines in the 28th minute of play. If Maurice Gaines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, Haileybury's Kris Guillory nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anselme Chalifour made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Gaultois AFC's Teodoro Denton got a free kick in the 41st minute. 45 minutes into the game, Maurice Gaines cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Anselme Chalifour was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Haileybury were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albert Beaulac made a kick off. With a little luck, Gaultois AFC's Anselme Chalifour got control of the ball when Maurice Gaines tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kris Guillory fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselme Chalifour having to interfere. Ollie Rhéaume made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Beaulac in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Haileybury booed when Gaultois AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Beaulac didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Haileybury getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Benny Kimbrough hit a great ball. Maurice Gaines sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurice Gaines could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Anselme Chalifour made a huge save. Maurice Gaines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Anselme Chalifour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haileybury's Kris Guillory got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anselme Chalifour made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Maurice Gaines sent off a good shot on target. If Maurice Gaines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Gaultois AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Maurice Gaines fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Kris Guillory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Haileybury booed when Gaultois AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chang Laramée didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wade Beaulé hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Haileybury played a much better game than Gaultois AFC and deserved their victory. The Gaultois AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
