Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when James Wise kicked off to start the match. After 7 played minutes Whitworth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Noel Bonneville. Felipe Thomson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clay Bureau charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clay Bureau the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Whitworth AFC's Clay Bureau got a free kick in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Thibault Draper notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Wingard's Alvaro Beverly. Alvaro Beverly was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thibault Draper took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Beverly. Alvaro Beverly dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Burt Benoit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Thomson in the 35th minute of play. A collision led to Whitworth AFC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Gene Shepard hit a great ball. Wingard's Emmanuel Hope got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gene Shepard might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Beverly. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gene Shepard ran back to his position shaking his head. Burt Benoit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Wise, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Thomson in the 46th minute of play forced Whitworth AFC's goalkeeper Burt Benoit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thibault Draper to strike the kick off in the second half. Percy King was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for Whitworth AFC. Clay Bureau stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alvaro Beverly. 0-4. After 61 minutes, Rodrick Foley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Whitworth AFC and the Wingard players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Felipe Thomson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ismael Weber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burt Benoit showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darrin LeBatelier in the 76th minute of the match. Emmanuel Hope charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emmanuel Hope the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 78 played minutes Wingard got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Hope. In the 79th minute, Clay Bureau fired a really elegant long shot, but Alvaro Beverly threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. When Wingard's Darrin LeBatelier in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Whitworth AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Darrin LeBatelier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Burt Benoit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emmanuel Hope struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Burt Benoit didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wingard. Gene Shepard succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 91st playminute. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Whitworth AFC's goalkeeper Burt Benoit, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Wingard's Alvaro Beverly got control of the ball when Gene Shepard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Whitworth AFC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Wingard's much stronger midfield.
